With the zkipster's Seating feature, available on the Professional and Enterprise plan levels, users have different ways to assign guests to seats and tables: automatically via the guest list spreadsheet import or manually. When using the spreadsheet option, you need to assign your guests to specific tables and seats, but there are use cases where you just need to randomly seat your guests on available seats and this article will explain how to use the 'Auto Seat' function to achieve that.

Please check the step by step below:

1 - Select Guests

From the 'Guest Seating' page of your floorplan, hover the mouse on top of the guest list from the right hand side and select the guests by ticking the checkbox from the right side of their names or clicking on 'Select All' to select all guests:

If you need to unselect, simply click again on the checkbox to remove the selection from that individual guest or click on the 'Unselect All' button to remove in bulk:

2 - Drag and Drop to 'Auto Seat'

After guests are selected, click on top of the selected guests and drag them to the 'Auto Seat' thumbnail from the right side of the floor plan and drop.

The system will assign the selected guests to available seats in your floor plan automatically. Click on 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the screen to save the change.

Please note: if your floor plan does not have enough available seats to allocate all of your selected guests, the message 'There aren't enough available seats to seat the selected guest parties' will pop up.

3 - Unseating Guests in Bulk

If you need to unseat a group of guests, you can quickly select them from the right hand side list and drag and drop them to the 'Unseat' button from the top left corner of the seating plan:
