What is the zkipster MCP
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and others connect securely to outside tools and pull in real data, instead of relying only on what you type into the chat.
The zkipster MCP is our own connector, built on this standard. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI assistant questions about your events and guests in plain language, and ask it to carry out certain actions, without opening zkipster or building a report first.
A few examples of what that looks like in practice:

Your assistant reaches your zkipster data through the same API that powers the zkipster platform itself, so anything it reads or changes is reflected in your account right away.
What you can do with zkipster Events MCP today
The zkipster Events MCP has different tools that help you planning your event, hosting it, and measuring the results. Here is what your AI assistant can currently do.
Planning: setting up and adjusting your event
You can ask your assistant to | What it does |
Create or update an event | Creates a new event, or updates its name, dates or location. Sessions must fall within the event's own start and end times. |
Create or update guest lists | Adds a new, empty guest list to an event, or renames an existing one. |
Add or update guests | Adds guest(s) to a guest list, or updates a guest's details, such as status, contact information, custom field values or check-in state. |
Add a custom field | Creates a custom field on an event for information the standard guest fields do not cover, such as dietary requirements or ticket type. |
Create or update sessions | Adds a session (such as a ceremony, dinner or panel) to a multi-part event, or updates its name, time, duration or location. |
Assign guests to sessions | Sets which sessions a guest is assigned to. This replaces the guest's full list of sessions rather than adding to it. If a guest is already assigned to other sessions, ask your assistant to include those alongside the new one, or it may remove the guest from sessions you did not mean to change. |
Review seating | Looks up seating maps, seated guests, table capacity, and the venue floor plan image, so your assistant can help you review an arrangement, such as checking table composition or finding empty seats. |
Seat a guest at a table | Places guest(s) at a named table. Always specify the table. If no table is given, the guest is seated at a random table instead. There is currently no way to unseat or move a guest back out through the assistant, so undo a placement in the zkipster app if needed. |
Hosting: guest photos and documents

Download a guest's picture, consent form or attachment | Retrieves the actual file. Only available where the relevant add-on is enabled on the event. |
Upload or replace a guest's picture | Sets or replaces the photo on a guest's profile. Accepts bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg and png files up to 5MB. |
Please note: these files can include personal guest data, including special category data such as consent forms. Only ask your assistant to retrieve or share this information in ways consistent with your own data protection obligations to your guests.
Measuring: reports and guest data

Look up guests | Searches guests within an event by name, email or organisation, or by an external ID from another system such as your CRM. |
Review guest lists and sessions | Lists the guest lists or sessions on an event, along with guest status and check-in information, for one list, one session, or the whole event. |
Pro Tip: because search and reporting tools are read-only, they're the safest place to start if you're getting familiar with the MCP. Ask your assistant questions about your event before asking it to make changes.
What the MCP cannot do yet
To keep things predictable while the MCP is new, a few things are intentionally out of scope for now:
Sending invitations or messages. Your assistant cannot send emails, SMS, WhatsApp messages or reminders to guests. All guest communications still go out through zkipster Communications campaigns.
Deleting anything. Events, guest lists, guests, sessions and custom fields cannot be removed through your assistant. Deletions still need to happen directly in zkipster.
Account and user administration. Managing teams, users or permission schemes is not available through the assistant, and needs to happen in zkipster directly.
Prerequisites
Before you connect an AI assistant to zkipster, make sure you have:
● Integrations Account Permission in zkipster
● An AI assistant that supports custom MCP connectors (currently we support only Claude and ChatGPT, but let us know if you would like to use another assistant)
Connect your AI assistant
Claude
1. In Claude, go to Settings > Connectors and click Add custom connector.
2. Enter a name, for example "zkipster Events", and enter the Server URL:

4. Click Continue and paste in the following Client ID

5. Click Add. The zkipster connector now appears on your Connectors page.
6. Click Connect, and log in with your zkipster credentials when prompted. After signing in, you should Authorize the connection when prompted.
Please note: if you're using Claude Cowork, connectors added this way are also available there, so you can build recurring workflows, such as a daily digest of newly confirmed guests, on top of the same connection.
ChatGPT
1. In ChatGPT, go to Plugins > + to add a new plugin
2. Enter a name, for example "zkipster Events", and enter the Server URL:

4. Under Advanced OAuth Settings, enter the following client ID

5. Tick the consent checkbox and click Create. The zkipster plugin now appears on your Plugins page.
6. Click Connect, and log in with your zkipster credentials when prompted. After signing in, you should Authorize the connection when prompted.
Use Case Examples
Morning guest digests. Ask your assistant to check for newly confirmed RSVPs each morning and post a short summary to Slack or email, so you don't have to log in to see what changed overnight.
Faster event setup. Describe your event structure in a sentence ("create the event, add a VIP and a press guest list, and add a dietary requirements field") and let your assistant do the clicking.
Seating review. Ask your assistant to look at a seating map and flag empty tables, or tables that are over capacity, before you go back in to make changes yourself.
Session coverage checks. For multi-part events, ask which guests are not yet assigned to any session, so nobody is missed.
