Q: How do I print name badges automatically and manually via the app?

A: If you are using a compatible printer you can set up the 'Auto Print' function on your zkipster app, so that the badges are printed automatically once the guest is checked-in. Find more via this article: How to Print Name Badges at Check-In via the zkipster App

You can manually print name badges via the zkipster app, by selecting a guest from the guest list. The printer icon to the right of the guest's name will allow for a manual print of the badge.

Q: Can I add logos/QR codes to name badges?

A: Yes, you can add and print images, logo and QR codes to your name badge. Please remember that the maximum file size for images and logo is 5MB. Here are some articles to go over the details on how you can set up the image and QR codes.

Q: How do I customize the name badge?

A: You can customize your name badges using the provided templates, and selecting how you would like to arrange the images and text. You can also customize what guest data will be on the badge, include QR Codes and images, depending on the template and dimensions of the badges that you select.

Q: Can I print name badges in color?

A: zkipster's compatible on-site badge printing devices are Brother printers and they only print black & white and can only print on rolled paper. If you wish to print in color, you can export the name badge in a PDF format, you will also need a PDF editor to change the text color of the name badges. Once done, you can print in color via desktop printing.

Q: Can we import our own custom name badge?

A: Currently, it is not possible to import a custom name badge. You can customize your name badges using the provided templates, and selecting how you would like to arrange the images and text. You can also customize what guest data will be on the badge, include QR Codes and images, depending on the template and dimensions of the badges that you select.

Q: How can I export my name badges and print them in advance?

A: Once your name badge design is ready, you can click on 'Create PDF' on the top left side of your screen. A pop up window will display and you will be able to select the dimension of the paper you will print (Letter Size or A4). You can print name badges on Avery paper.

Q: What are the compatible name badge printers?

A: The zkipster app is compatible with a few selected Brother label printers. The only compatible devices are the Brother QL-710W, Brother QL720NW and the Brother QL-810W and QL820NWB series printers.

The 700 series brother printers (Brother QL-710W and Brother QL720NW) has been discontinued by Brother. While it is still supported to be used for name badge printing with zkipster, recommend that you use the 800 series instead (Brother QL-810W and QL820NWB).

Please note that zkipster does not provide hardware but we have a partner/vendor and you can coordinate with them about renting a printer if you would like.

Q: What are the compatible paper for name badge printing?

A: You can print your name badges on either adhesive or non-adhesive paper. Both varieties come in the same color options: white, clear, or yellow. Continuous rolls allow the length of the label to be customized using the zkipster app, while pre-set label sizes will be scaled directly to the size of the label when inserted into the printer.

Q: How can I connect to my printer?

A: First, we recommend the QL820NWB and QL820NWBC because they have a display and are easier to set up. You can either connect your printer via WiFi or Bluetooth. We always recommend using the WiFi as a first option because it is a more stable connection. You also can connect other devices to the same printer via WiFi (we only recommend 2 or 3 devices), while Bluetooth only allows one device per printer.

Q: How can I connect my printer to the zkipster mobile app?

  • Open the zkipster app

  • Select the event

  • Tap on 'More' in the bottom right corner

  • Under Event Settings, tap on 'Printer Settings' and go to 'Printer'

  • Tap on the printer of your choice via WiFi or Bluetooth

Pro Tip: The Name Badge 'Printer Settings' will also display the specific settings for the connected printing device. This is also where you can change the 'Custom Paper Length', toggle the 'Auto Print' to ON and select the 'Quality' of the Name Badge Printing as Low Resolution, Normal, Double Speed and High Resolution.

Q: My printer is not connecting.

A: You can check if the Device Model and OS version is updated, then check if the zkipster app version is up to date. If connecting via WiFi, check if the internet connection is stable and the devices are connected to the same network. You can also check if the device permission for the zkipster app to access device is allowed
