What does a Plus One (+1) mean in zkipster?
A plus one is any additional guest that you are allowing your main guest to attend your event with. Unlike main guests, +1s in zkipster do not require an individual Guest Profile to be Checked-in.
+1s are counted toward the total number of attendees in Event Reports and Session Reports.
The number of +1s a guest is permitted to bring can be configured using the 'Total Guests' field. The number displayed in this field includes the main guest (for example, a main guest with a 'Total Guests' value of 4 is permitted to bring themself and 3 additional guests). Further information on accounting for +1s using the 'Total Guests' field can be found in this article.
+1s can also be set up using the Relationships feature when the +1's information is provided by the main guest. Further information on accounting for +1s using Relationships can be found in this article.
Checking-in +1s using the app
Either tap the main guest's name or scan their QR Code to bring up the main guest's profile. If a Guest has been allowed to bring a +1 (or more), this will display inside the 'Guests of Main Guest' button.
Tap the 'Guests of Main Guest' button to Check-in a +1, or press and hold the 'Check-in' button to check the main guest and all of their +1s simultaneously.
If you have checked in a +1 by mistake, tap and hold the 'Guests of Main Guest' button to uncheck all +1s linked to the main guest.
Alternatively, Guests and their +1s can be Checked-in by swiping their name to the right on your device's screen. This will reveal two buttons to Check-in Guests without bringing up their Guest Profile or scanning QR Codes.
The button with a single head will Check-in the main guest. This can be reverted by tapping the curved arrow.
The button with two heads will Check-in all +1s of the main guest. This can be reverted by tapping the button with two curved arrows.
The GIF below shows this process in action, swiping to Check-in the guest, David Black, along with his +1.
Checking in +1s using the Relationships feature
Guests who have been configured as +1s using Relationships can be viewed alongside Guests they are related to by tapping the 3-dotted circle icon located directly above the Check-in button. Please note that the Relationships icon will not display unless relationships have been established for the Guest in their Guest Profile.
Tap the 'Check-In' button to the right of the related Guest's name to check them into your Event.
If a related Guest was mistakenly Checked-in, this can be undone by tapping 'Revert', which replaces the Check-in button next to their name.
Checking +1s into Sessions
+1s can be Checked-in to Sessions after the main guest by tapping the Check-in button. +1s Checked-in this way cannot enter a Session separately to the main guest. Tap and hold to revert Check-in.
Swiping right on the Guest's name will automatically Check the main guest and all their +1s into the Session simultaneously. Swipe on the Guest's name again to revert.
The Relationships feature can also be used for Session Check-in. Tap the 3-dotted circle above the Check-in button and select related guests from the list to check in. Related guests who have not been invited to the Session will not be able to check in alongside a guest who has.
