What is the Salesforce integration?
The zkipster integration for Salesforce lets you move guest data between your Salesforce account and zkipster Events without spreadsheets. You bring the contacts from a Salesforce Campaign into a guest list, run your event in zkipster, then send the results back to Salesforce.
Everything happens inside zkipster. There is nothing to install from the Salesforce AppExchange, and the integration does not add zkipster objects or extra fields to your Salesforce records. Your Salesforce admin approves the connection when you connect. The only change on the Salesforce side is one optional Lead field, used when you want to send guests created in zkipster back to Salesforce.
Please note: this integration replaces the previous zkipster app on the Salesforce AppExchange. The two are separate apps, so there is nothing to migrate, and both can be enabled at the same time. If you uninstall the previous app, Salesforce removes its custom objects and their data, so export anything you want to keep first.
How Salesforce and zkipster fit together
The integration works with Salesforce’s standard objects. In practice, they map to zkipster like this:
In Salesforce | What it is | In zkipster |
Campaign | A marketing initiative, often an event. Can have a start date. | The source you import from, and the target you export to |
Campaign Member | A Lead or Contact added to a Campaign, with a status such as Sent or Responded | A guest on your guest list |
Lead | A person you know little about yet, usually with a company name | Guest details (name, company and more) |
Contact | A known person, always linked to an Account | Guest details |
Account | A company or organisation | Guest details such as Organization, available through the Contact |
Please note: guests must be members of a Salesforce Campaign to be imported. You cannot import Contacts or Leads directly from your Salesforce lists.
What you can do
• Import Campaign Members into a guest list. Choose a Campaign, import all members or filter by Campaign Member Status, and map Salesforce fields to guest fields. See How to Import Salesforce Campaign Members into a Guest List.
• Export guests back to Salesforce. Update the Campaign Members, Contacts, Leads and Accounts you imported, or create new Campaign Members for guests who were added in zkipster, such as walk-ins. See How to Export Guests from zkipster to Salesforce.
• Track every run. Each import and export is logged in the Salesforce Activity Log, with a detailed download for exports, and you receive an email with the results. See Salesforce Activity Log and Troubleshooting Failed Exports.
Is this integration right for you?
The integration is designed for teams that plan events with standard Salesforce objects and do not have their own integration team.
If your events depend on custom Salesforce objects, or you need an automatic, real-time sync, a custom integration through the zkipster API is a better fit. See Custom Integrations.
Availability
The Salesforce integration is available as an add-on, called Integration Hub Connector, on Enterprise and Professional Annual plans. Once purchased, it is active for every event in your account.
On the Salesforce side, you need:
• A Salesforce edition with API access: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited or Developer. Professional edition only includes API access as a paid add-on from Salesforce.
• A Salesforce user to connect with, and in most cases help from your Salesforce admin. See How to Connect Your Salesforce Account to zkipster.
To purchase the add-on, go to the Salesforce card in Integration Hub and select Purchase add-on, or contact your Client Relations team at sales@zkipster.com.
