Frequently Asked Questions About Guest Relationships in zkipster

Q: How do I relate guests in zkipster?

The Relationships feature allows you to define the relationship between your guests in zkipster in different ways: via the guest list spreadsheet or individually via the Guest List view or Guest Profile.

If you want to relate your guests via the guest list spreadsheet, please check this article here for the step by step on how to format your spreadsheet in order to create relationships in between your guests before importing the file into zkipster.

If you have already uploaded your guest list spreadsheet, you have the option to manually relate your guests via the Guest List view screen or via the Guest Profile. Please click here to learn more about how to manually create relationships in zkipster.

Q: Can I relate multiple guests to the same person?

Yes, one guest can be related to unlimited other guests that are part of the same event. For example, Albert can be "Coworker" of Iain and also "Spouse" of Alicia.

Please note: Only one relationship label can be defined in between two guests. For example, the relationship between Albert and Iain cannot be "Coworker" and also "Personal Assistant" - only one relationship label will be accepted by the platform.

Q: Can I relate guests that are part of different events?

The Relationships feature allow you to define relationships in between guests that are part of the same event only. In order to relate two guests in different events, both guests need to be part of the different event's guest lists.

Q: Can I relate guests that are part of different guest lists?

Yes, guests that are part of the same event, but are on different guest lists can still be related in zkipster either via the spreadsheet file or manually via the Guest Profile or Guest List view. Please refer to this article to learn how you can relate guests from different guest list via the spreadsheet file before importing it into zkipster and click here to learn how you can do that manually via the Guest Profile.

Q: Can I send the same invitation to related guests that are part of different guest lists?

Once the Guest Relationships have been correctly defined, event planners on the Professional and Enterprise plans can choose to send an invitation to a main guest and also to any other related guest, independently from the guest list they are part of.

On the ‘Settings’ section of your invitation’s email you are able to select which guests you are sending the invitation to and include any relationship your guests have.

After defining which Guest List or Individual Guests you are sending the invitation to, you can tick the check box for ‘Also send to the following guests, regardless of their guest list or status’ and use the box field below to choose which relationship status group should also receive the invitation:

On the example above, the invitation will be sent to the guests from the 'Collaborators' guest list and any of their related guests that have the relationship status 'Personal Assistant', 'Manager' and 'Coworker'.

Please check this article to learn more about how to send the same invitation to related guests.

Q: Can I allow guests to RSVP on behalf of their related guests?

Yes, event planners on the Professional and Enterprise plans can use the Invitations feature to send invitations and choose if guests can RSVP to the event on behalf of themselves only or on behalf of other guests they are related to.

Guests can RSVP on behalf of their related guests either via the Form Landing Page or via the Form Success Page. The steps to follow in order to allow your guests to RSVP on behalf of related guests are the same for the Form Landing Page and the Form Success Page:

1 - On the Landing Page/Success Page composer, click into the 'Relationships' section and turn the toggle ON to include RSVP buttons for related guests:

2 - On the 'Settings' tab of the Relationships section you can choose to include RSVP buttons for all related guests or only for specific related guests, such as related guests that have a 'Coworker' or 'Personal Assistant' relationship status, for example:

Please refer to this article here for more information on how to allow guests to RSVP on behalf of their guests.

Q: Is the Relationships feature the same as the Total Guest field?

The 'Relationship' field is not related to the 'Total Guests' field. This means that if you define a relationship between two main guests in your event, they will not be counted as being part of each other's Party Size.

If you are allowing guests to bring additional guests to your event, please refer to this article to learn how you can account for +1s.

Q: Can I view my guests' relationships when creating my event's Seating Plan?

Yes. After you have created your seating map, assigned seats and related guests to each other, you will also see a ‘Relationships button' on the seating map under the 'Guest Seating' section.

When you click the relationship button, you will see a list of related guests underneath the main guest. The main guest and their related guests will be highlighted in the Seating Map and the Main Guest selected will have a green color border.

You can also view your guest's relationships on the seating plan via the zkipster mobile app. Please refer to this article here for more information.
